But thats why were going to dig into personal change and getting adapted to that. It starts with you. Lets go. But I know how intentional you were about that and the amount of resources you consumed. In other words, if Im continually growing, Im continually developing myself, and Im continually learning and Im continually doing new things, and going to another step higher. And when youll go through that process, not every time, because every change is a little bit different in its dynamic, but I think youll have a lot more success when you go through those steps. If youd say, By gosh, John. I go, Okay, I found the facts. But what I want you to do is I want you to take us back. Yeah, I think it is the problem. You dont start because you dont realize yet that the fruit of everything good in life begins with the challenge. And yet the world around is changing and theres not a tribe of leaders that are catching the vision that weve got to go back and build on the basics of leadership, which is all about valuing others, which is all about putting others first, which is all about killing our agenda as the leader and making the agenda the peoples agenda. I know Im known for leadership, I understand that. Him recognizing change as growth might be an intentional decision to recognize change as growth. What did you learn? You better be ready to answer that question, because he just models that. The best way I knew to do that as a conclusion to John and I saying Ive got to roll up the sleeves and get involved in whats going on in the organization, were these family rooms, Chris. Then it to be modeled by John, youre on the road with John. Well, Im going to tell you, its going to take some courage for some of you to step out, to get out of the comfort zone, to put yourself first before all those others around you that are depleting you, you may need to put some restorative things, some restorative plans, some ways to make yourself better in an intentional plan to become better. He always does. In part one, John shares nine observations about the nature of problems and problem-solving. John for years has taught theres a distinction between success and significance, and in teaching that hes talked about that success is what happens to you, significance is what happens through you. Number two, make that commitment public. A volunteer coordinator. But maybe not. But in that aspect, one of my favorite quotes from Benjamin Franklin is, When you are finished changing, you are finished.. Weve been doing it for a long time. I mean, he just rides them the whole way through. Ive heard you say simplify a ton of times in the last 90 days. 1. The reason that were not intentional in our growing, is there are just some gaps that keep us from getting to where we need to go.
